Educate Yourself
Welcome
Open in new window Welcome to the Libertarian party of Clark County (LPCC). We hope to be a valuable tool to the liberty-loving people here. Come help us achieve our ultimate goal of establishing a free society.

The path is a political one. We need politicians to end government's theft of private property, and remove laws that restrict liberty. Education, demonstrations and attending political events are important, but what good are they if tyrannical laws are kept or parasitic government programs upheld? The best place to start is right here in Clark County. We can end unfair taxation. We can improve education. We can bring prosperity.

Quotes - August 2010
"Few men have virtue to withstand the highest bidder."
George Washington

LPCC Agenda
As a political party, our main strategy is to help libertarian candidates get elected. We also invite current politicians and fellow citizens to work with us on our top priorities, listed below. Ideally, the libertarian position is simple: a free people make their own decisions, otherwise they are not free. However, we are outnumbered many-fold and must be able to compromise. We are willing to work with all those who desire a better society.

Local Focus
Education - Improve the public education system to transfer control back to the parents and local authorities.
Independence from government - Many expensive government programs should be dropped or downsized. This will allow government to focus on more important programs like the justice system.
Taxation - Less taxes means more financial freedom and a healthier economy. Once government is more efficient or downsized, then taxes can be cut.

State Focus
We have less influence over state issues, so we will try to focus on only a few.
Health Care - We need to shift our focus to health care and not insurance. The insurance industry has paid for so many laws that are designed to extract the most money from their customers. These need to be repealed. Also, do we really need a state health insurance commission? No!
Welfare - In many instances, welfare programs simply exascerbate the problems they were instituted to correct. Welfare reform is crucial to a healthy society. Human behaviour does not react favorably to free handouts and dependence to government. The solution is not simple or a quick one.

National Focus
We have very little influence over national issues. These agenda items will mainly be to educate the public so that they can base their opinions on correct information.
End the Federal Reserve - The popular perception is that this will destabilize the economy. If we proceed intelligently, it can only only help. We don't need to abolish anything directly if we simply allow US citizens to use whatever form of money they want, be it precious metals, tobacco, oil, etc. The Federal reserve system was designed by Wall Street executives to give them control over the money supply. They cannot bail themselves out if we end their Fiat Money system. If the money supply is based on something tangible, they can't overvalue the markets or force the government to borrow their magic money.
No Cap and Trade - This bill is just another major government control over the economy, written by Wall Street executives for Wall Street executives.
